NITROEUROPEEuropean Union ProjectsProject duration: Feb 2006 to Apr 2011This project focuses mainly on the components of the nitrogen cycle and their interactions with the carbon cycle.IntroductionIt will also measure the flows of nitrogen in ecosystems, as well as the amounts retained, and will develop models to simulate these flows at different levels, from small areas to Europe as a whole. By designing experiments on terrestrial ecosystems, the project also aims to study the principal phenomena which affect these cycles: climate change, change in atmospheric composition, soil management and changes in land use. NitroEuropeIP is one of the projects committed to promoting the integration of European research. It therefore cooperates closely with the CarboEuropeIP project (www.carboeurope.org), and forms part of the 6th European Framework Programme for Research and Technological Development.ConclusionsFinal Project Report NITROEUROPE
