CREAF

I am a biologist by the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB), PhD in Terrestrial Ecology (UAB/CREAF), currently National Geographic Explorer at CREAF where I was previously a Juan de la Cierva Fellow. I am also researcher at Universidad de Alcalá and hold an Honorary Lecturer position at University of Stirling where I did part of my postdoctoral research as MSC and Impact Fellow.

I have strong interest in understanding the factors that regulate the dynamics of terrestrial vegetation to climate and land-use change, and the integration of this information for management and conservation purposes. By addressing key questions at the intersection between ecology and biogeography, I develop a novel research line that combines theoretical development with field studies, analysis of large datasets, and the latest molecular approaches. My current research is focussed on the interactions between vegetation and soil biota that underpin biodiversity structure and the ecosystem carbon and nutrient balance.
