Marina Torres Gibert
I hold a degree in Environmental Biology from the UAB and a specialization in Scientific, Medical and Environmental Communication from BSM-UPF. I am currently part of the Communication team at CREAF, working as the Social Science Communication Officer. I coordinate social media content and maintain a cross-cutting perspective of the centre’s activities to generate content of interest for society.
I have experience in institutional communication, media relations, creation and management of digital campaigns, and the organization of outreach and citizen science activities. I have worked as a communication officer in several environmental research centres in Catalonia. After an initial period at CREAF, I worked at the Institute of Agrifood Research and Technology (IRTA), first at the Animal Health Research Centre (IRTA-CReSA) and later at the Institute’s headquarters in Torre Marimon. Before returning to CREAF, I worked at the Institute of Marine Sciences (ICM-CSIC) on citizen science projects.
I am trained in crisis communication and leadership skills, in radio broadcasting, and I collaborate as a lecturer in scientific communication in the Environmental Biology Bachelor’s Degree at UAB and in the One Health Master’s programme at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at UAB. I also have experience in radio and audiovisual media and I am a member of the Catalan Association for Science Communication (ACCC).
