REGen-RED

The REGen RED project emerges to advance this next phase after the definition of the regenerative criteria in the previous REGEN project:. This next fase is transforming the agreed regenerative criteria into an operational, measurable, and applicable framework at territorial and policy scales. In this sense, the project aims to build a technical and consensus-based framework of regenerative agriculture criteria and indicators, based on REGEN, that enables practical application in different agricultural contexts, facilitates institutional recognition, and lays the groundwork for progressive integration into public policies, particularly within the framework of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP).

REGen RED is conceived as a collaborative project focused on continuous improvement and evidence generation, rather than as a certification system. Its purpose is to facilitate the transition toward more resilient agricultural models, compatible with food production and aligned with soil, biodiversity, and climate restoration objectives, strengthening the role of regenerative agriculture as a public policy tool. The final objective is to support the development of a specific public funding line for the transition to regenerative agriculture: a publicly funded instrument that enables producers wishing to begin this process to access both technical and financial support.
