Postdoctoral researcher in soil biogeochemistry. I am currently working on issues of atmospheric carbon dioxide capture in agricultural soils through enhanced silicate weathering, and how this…

I did my PhD at the Ecology Section of the University of Barcelona (UB, 2018) on the effects of water availability on Mediterranean riparian forests, addressing perspectives of dendrochronology, plant physiology and soil biogeochemistry.

Since then, my research has been based on soil biogeochemical processes and greenhouse gas emissions. During the first years of my postdoc at U.Antwerpen (Belgium, 2019-2023) I worked on atmospheric carbon dioxide capture in agricultural soils through enhanced silicate weathering, and how this can also help to reduce nitrous oxide emissions. These last two years I have been part of the ALFAwetlands project from the UB (2023-2025), studying how management can affect greenhouse gas emissions from different wetlands in Catalonia.

Now I join CREAF with a MSCA fellowship taking enhanced silicate weathering to the wetlands agroecosystems with the project: EWRECA - Enhanced silicate weathering in agricultural rice paddies: maximisation of soil carbon sequestration and crop production, while reducing the overall greenhouse gas emissions.
