Lidia del Arco Gómez
My name is Lidia, and I am from Barcelona. I studied a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Sciences at the University of Barcelona and a Master's in Terrestrial Ecology and Biodiversity Management at the Autonomous University of Barcelona, specializing in the study of arthropods. Recently, I completed my PhD in Applied Entomology at IRTA.
My research focused on Integrated Pest Management, specifically on biological control and pest detection in stored grain. I evaluated the effectiveness of parasitoids and predatory mites in controlling rice pests and developed molecular methods to detect and identify arthropods in stored grains.
At CREAF, I will join the Insect Ecology and Pollination Laboratory, where I will contribute to the POLLINEAT project, which will investigate the nutritional ecology of solitary bees. In my free time, I love spending time outdoors, hiking, and enjoying live music.
