Clàudia Ortiz Tribó
I have a degree in Environmental Biology from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona and I am currently working with the pollinator group at CREAF. My tasks are framed by projects on wild bee ecology and conservation through agricultural habitat restoration, as well as educative projects. I am particularly interested in environmental education, ethnobotany, bioremediation, and the application of innovative approaches to address socio-environmental challenges.
Through Beacon and Restpoll projects, I have contributed to generating knowledge about the functionality of pollinator communities in agricultural environments, and the role that resource availability plays. We have also engaged with farmers and technicians, raising awareness about the threats faced by wild bees and offering them efficient and accessible strategies for pollinator conservation and habitat restoration. With AlesAules, we have made science tangible for children by involving them in monitoring pollinators and implementing improvements in their own schoolyards, educating them about their importance and status, and reshaping the way they feel about them.
