Alba Gimbert Àlvarez
A renaissance-minded scientist eager to explore the connections between communication, conservation, nature, culture, and society. I am particularly interested in weaving these worlds together to help transform the way we understand and care for our environment.
I hold a degree in Biology and a Master’s in Cultural and Natural Heritage from the University of Girona, which has allowed me to work with an integrated vision of heritage, aligned with the need to bridge its two dimensions: the natural and the cultural.
My journey in science communication began at the Natural Sciences Museum of Granollers, where I worked for nearly three years as a cultural mediator and workshop facilitator (2018–2020). That stage reaffirmed my vocation for translating scientific knowledge with passion and turning it into experiences that spark questions, connect with curiosity, foster environmental awareness, and help people better understand the value of the natural life that surrounds us.
I am currently part of the communications team at CREAF, where I dedicate part of my energy to institutional communication and social media. I also coordinate Prismàtic, an initiative promoted by the Department of Territory, Housing and Ecological Transition that brings applied research in biodiversity and nature conservation closer to those who manage the land. This project allows me to stay close to the real needs of scientific and technical professionals, understand their challenges, and help ensure that scientific evidence becomes truly useful in their daily work.
In 2026, I begin a new stage by also taking on a role in internal communication, to strengthen our shared narrative and care for how we connect, inform, and listen to one another from within, so that everything we project outward is even more aligned with the purpose that drives us.
