CREAF takes part in the fair 'Science is Wonderful'

Inspiring and bringing together young scientists is the aim of the 'Science is Wonderful' fair to be held in Brussels from 18 to 20th March 2026, which includes the participation of researchers Estefanía Muñoz, Ana Letícia Zevenhuizen and Javier de la Casa. The three scientists have a booth open to youngsters and kids, named 'The carbon adventure' focused on raising awareness on the CO₂ cycle on Earth. This cicle is vital to guarantee the Earth's climate: it regulates the concentration of this gas in the atmosphere and maintains a climatic balance that allows life as we know it.

How can we keep everyone on the planet fed and sheltered while also protecting the climate? At this booth, participants will have to make the right choices to save the planet - and feed the world - without tipping the balance. In this team challenge, people will discover how their choices affect the carbon cycle: watch as carbon spots move from forests and oceans to the atmosphere, heating up the planet. Each team has different goals and share the same environment, to find the balance between taking care of people and protecting the Earth in a team work.

The fair 'Science is Wonferful' is organized by the European Commission and is part of the Marie Curie Slodovowska Actions. It celebrates EU-funded research by inviting leading researchers from all over the world.
