Pablo Fernández Cancelo
Graduate in Chemistry and Biochemistry, and PhD in Agri-food Sciences. He completed his doctoral thesis at the IRTA-Fruitcentre in Lleida, focusing on the effects of environmental conditions on the physiology of climacteric fruits and their influence on postharvest behavior, including ripening patterns and susceptibility to major fungal postharvest diseases.
Technically, he has solid experience in:
- Analytical chemistry: development and validation of analytical methods applied to environmental and food samples using chromatographic and spectroscopic techniques.
- Molecular biology: cloning, transcriptomics, and proteomics.
- Microbiology: cultivation and handling of fungi and bacteria.
He has worked as a research technician at the Institute of Physical Chemistry Rocasolano (CSIC), as an analytical chemist in the pharmaceutical industry, and as head of the instrumental analysis laboratory at the BETA Technological Center of the University of Vic.
He is currently part of the CREAF team as a research technician in the MITICFOR and RESTICFOR projects, focused on studying the impact of global climate change on soil biodiversity and plant physiology.
