Jinyuan Yu

PhD student at the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB) and CREAF investigating climate change impacts on soil microbial processes, nitrogen cycling and N₂O emissions.

I am a PhD student at the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB) and a member of the Climate–Vegetation–Soil Interactions Laboratory at CREAF. I obtained both my Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Soil and Water Conservation and Desertification Control from Northwest A&F University, China.

My research focuses on soil microbial ecology, biogeochemical cycling and ecosystem responses to global environmental change. Currently, I investigate how climate warming influences soil microbial processes, nitrogen cycling and greenhouse gas emissions, particularly nitrous oxide (N₂O). My work explores how carbon and nitrogen availability interact with increasing temperatures to regulate microbial activity, nutrient transformations and nitrogen losses in high-latitude ecosystems.
