Annastasia Frizzell

PhD student in the EDM team studying how emerging contaminants affect Mediterranean springs, using bryophytes as bioindicators.

My name is Annastasia Frizzell, and I'll be a doctoral student at CREAF studying the effects of emerging contaminants, such as pharmaceuticals and microplastics, on Mediterranean springs. I'm originally from Idaho in the United States. I did my bachelor's at the University of Rochester in upstate New York and my master's at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. I love being outside, whether I'm hiking, running, or swimming in the ocean. I also enjoy cooking, and I think I've almost perfected a salmon rice bowl. I played football growing up and I'm a Barça Femení supporter. I'm super excited to join CREAF!
