Study on climate change adaptation in agriculture in the EU, focus on water management

The aim of the work is to examine how the EU agricultural sector has been adapting to the effects of climate change, including the consequences of water-related climate impacts.

The objective of the assignment is to examine how the EU agricultural sector has been adapting to the effects of climate change, including to the consequences of water-related climate impacts.

For this purpose, it should map climate adaptation strategies, tools and farming practices implemented by different stakeholders of the agricultural sector.

It should further identify factors which determine their suitability in view of climate change adaptation and estimate associated costs and benefits for farmers.

The study should also identify the drivers and barriers for farmers to adapt and transit towards climate and water resilient farming practices, examining the role of the CAP (Common Agricultural Policy) and other policy instruments.
