Eladio Rodríguez Penedo
Graduated in Biology from the University of Santiago de Compostela (2019) and completed a Master’s in Biodiversity Conservation at the University of Huelva (2021). In 2022, he worked as a research assistant at Durham University (United Kingdom), where he was part of a team specializing in the study of invasive species.
Since 2023, he has been conducting his PhD in Terrestrial Ecology at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, within the Elemental Diversity and Macroecology (EDM) research group, under the supervision of Drs. Marcos Fernández-Martínez, Roger Grau-Andrés, and Francesc Sabater. His research is part of the ERC-STOIKOS project, in which he explores the concept of elementomes and elemental diversity to better understand ecosystem functioning and species interactions. To achieve this, he combines data obtained through field observations, ecological experimentation, and remote sensing techniques.
His main research interests include biodiversity, ecosystem functioning, macroecology, biotic interactions, plant ecology, invasion biology, and the application of remote sensing to ecological research.
