Claudio Açaí Bracho Estévanez
I hold a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Biology from the Autonomous University of Barcelona, an MSc in Ecology from the University of Barcelona, an MSc in Geographic Information Systems from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia, and a PhD in Ecology from the University of Cádiz (2025). My research focuses on the effects of global change on biodiversity, plant-animal interactions, seed dispersal by migratory birds, and species redistribution. I am a member of the ECOLAND LAB research group, contracted within the framework of the RESFIRE , LIFE REINFORCEMENT , and BIOAGORA projects.
My research aims to explore the potential of bird migration data from the EuroBirdPortal project to model changes in biodiversity distributions at the continental scale, considering different scenarios of disturbance and landscape transformation over the coming decades. I also aim to contribute my expertise in species distribution models and mechanistic dispersal models to address key questions regarding the capacity of species to recolonise disturbed areas and reach new suitable habitats under global change.
