Actions to promote the maturity and naturalness of the forests in the Alta Garrotxa
The project consists of drafting the executive project to carry out forestry actions in the protected natural area of Alta Garrotxa in order to promote maturity and naturalness in almost 2000 ha of heritage forests. The project is part of the priority action framework (MAP) “Actions for promoting maturity and naturalness of forests in Alta Garrotxa” provided for in the Alta Garrotxa Protection Plan. The proposed actions are in total harmony with the variables that contribute positively as climate refuges understood as spaces where to conserve the biodiversity specific and exclusive to mature forests.
The work proposal consists of drafting the executive project to carry out forestry actions in the protected natural area of Alta Garrotxa within the project proposed in the priority action framework (MAP) “Actions for the promotion of the maturity and naturalness of forests in Alta Garrotxa” provided for in the Alta Garrotxa Protection Plan.
The proposal is contemplated on land owned by the Generalitat, a total of 1,965.3 ha, since it is in total harmony with the variables that contribute positively as climate refuges.
The project is divided into two parts:
• Drafting of the executive project, where the actions and objectives of the project will be well defined, as well as its justification and associated cartography of the areas to be intervened.
• Execution of the actions that can be divided according to the different objectives:
- Actions for the promotion and maturity and naturalness of forests.
- Actions to recover old agricultural and livestock ponds so that they retain more water for longer.
The project will clearly define: the agents involved: the project promoter and the technicians involved; the background and description of the current situation, analysis of the action areas and the justification for the interventions.
