Tristan Bakx

I have a BSc degree in Biology and a MSc degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Amsterdam, the Netherlands. During my degrees at the University of Amsterdam, I studied avian distributions and movement ecology. In 2024, I obtained my PhD degree in Physical Geography and Ecosystem Science from Lund University, Sweden. My PhD research centered around ecosystem service and biodiversity responses to forest management in Sweden at different spatial scales.

I am working in the ECOLAND research group with the SPEAR and WildE projects to model avian diversity responses to climate and land use change. In the projects, we aim to improve the planning of future nature conservation across Europe.

My research interests include biodiversity responses to land use and climate change, adaptation of forest management to environmental change and diversification of ecosystem services from production systems.
