National and regional funding programmes officer

Maribel Corral Zabala

With over 20 years of experience in research management, I have built a diverse and robust career across various public and private research centres and academic institutions. This extensive background has provided me with a broad and adaptable perspective of the research community needs, fostering an optimal, supportive, and sustainable approach to research initiatives.

I hold a degree in English Philology from the Universitat de Barcelona, a diploma as a Senior Technician in Business Administration from the CFP Poblenou, a master’s degree in Globalization, Development, and Cooperation from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, and a master’s degree in Social Media Management from INESDI Business Techschool. Additionally, I am certified in Research Management by the Instituto Europeo Campus Stellae, CRUE Red Otri, and the UPF Barcelona School of Management.

Since 2023, I have been responsible for managing national funding programs within the Pre-Award Unit at CREAF, where I also contribute to the coordination of the Unit. I collaborate with various areas of the center, focusing on optimizing and streamlining interaction, coordination, and cooperation processes between teams.

Professionally, I am interested in improving management processes and providing resources and support to the research community to enhance the social impact and strength of the research conducted. Personally, I have diverse interests: I am deeply passionate about literature, music, cinema, theatre, and art in all its forms.
