Researcher

Maria Angeles Perez-Navarro

PhD in Terrestrial Ecology (University Autonomous of Barcelona). Currently Beatriu de Pinós post-doc fellow. Researcher on plant biogeography.

I am an ecologist with experience in biogeography, climate change, and plant community dynamics. My research combines climate niche models, population ecology, and functional characterization to understand the responses of plant species and communities to global change. In particular, my research includes: studying the resistance and resilience of plant species and communities after extreme weather events, especially in Mediterranean and semi-arid communities; characterizing the climate debt of plant communities to climate change; and studying the demographic and functional differences between exotic and native flora.
