Lia Guallar Gual
Graduated in Biology from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB). I am currently involved in the STOIKOS project at CREAF as a laboratory technician, working on the measurement of functional traits and the processing of plant samples for elemental analysis. During my academic training, I developed a strong interest in plant physiology and plant responses to environmental change. This interest was reinforced through my Bachelor's Thesis, which focused on the relationship between biogenic volatile organic compounds (BVOCs), desiccation tolerance, and the bryophyte elementome, using data from the STOIKOS project.
I am interested in understanding the processes that regulate plant functioning and adaptation to different environmental conditions. I believe this type of research contributes to a better understanding of the role of vegetation in ecosystems and their responses to global change, providing valuable information for conservation and environmental management.
Beyond research, I enjoy nature and outdoor activities, especially hiking in the mountains.
