Jeroni Barbeta Palau
I am conducting my research at CREAF within the MountainLab research group. My research focuses on wildlife ecology, the application of occupancy models and ecoinformatics tools to understand species distributions, and the effects of global change on biodiversity.
The aim of my research is to generate scientific knowledge that contributes to the conservation and sustainable management of ecosystems by providing evidence-based tools to support decision-making for biodiversity conservation and the more effective management of natural areas. Throughout my career, I have also participated in projects on threatened species conservation, environmental management, and environmental education in both Catalonia and Costa Rica.
Beyond research, I am passionate about science communication and making scientific knowledge accessible to society. In my free time, I enjoy spending time in the mountains, especially hiking and skiing, and I have a strong interest in nature and biodiversity conservation.
