COSTAFLORA

Dunes and cliffs, which represent a limited part of the functional area of the eastern Mediterranean coastline (AFLE), are strongly affected by human pressure and climate change, putting their habitats and associated heritage flora at risk.

The CostaFlora project proposes creating a network of Open-Air Botanical Laboratories (LBCO) as spaces for research, monitoring, and outreach. These spaces will address environmental restoration by managing anthropogenic impacts, particularly those related to invasive species.

The project will also promote knowledge exchange to improve coastal risk management, conservation, and ongoing environmental education on threatened coastal flora in the Mediterranean.
