Sergi Palau Sáez

Laboratory technician in charge of the analysis of the primary metabolome of vegetal samples of Senecio pterophorus through gas chromatography.
Office: V0-105

I am Sergi Palau Sáez, a recent master’s graduate who studied a bachelor’s degree in Biology and a master’s degree in Plant Biology, Genomics Biotechnology, both at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB). I have always had a deep interest in biological sciences, and after completing my academic degrees I decided to drive my career towards areas more related to plant research, especially plant omics, biotechnology and molecular biology. During my stay at CREAF I will be working in the TRACES project to research the role of the vegetal metabolomic profile in cases of acclimation and adaptation to drought conditions within a single species, and also on its relationship with other traits belonging to other functional dimensions.

In addition to my interest in plant biology and life sciences as a whole, I am also a very active person that enjoys physical activities such as hiking, jogging, climbing, and strength training. Other hobbies include reading, music, and videogames.
