Geanderson Eduardo Ambrósio
I am a postdoctoral researcher at CREAF with a PhD in Applied Economics, specializing in land use and biodiversity. My research focuses on understanding how socioeconomic systems and land-use change drive biodiversity outcomes, particularly in the context of global sustainability challenges.
I have developed databases and indicators that integrate land-use dynamics with sustainability assessments, and I have contributed to scenario design and model implementation for Sustainable Development Pathways. My work combines quantitative modelling with policy analysis to better understand trade-offs between sustainability pathways, especially regarding socioeconomic development, land use, and biodiversity conservation.
By linking socio-economic drivers with ecological outcomes, I support designing more informed and effective strategies such as improving the capacity to anticipate environmental impacts and identify more sustainable development pathways.
On a personal level, I enjoy rugby, electronic music, books and creative projects connecting science to people.
