The aim of this project is to develop a methodology for the unsupervised classification (annotation) of behaviors in animal and human movement trajectories, based on data from tri-axial accelerometers. Along with GPS, the information unfolded by the accelerometry sensors existing in most mobile phones and devices to monitor animal movement will revolutionize the field of movement ecology, improving the understanding of the relationship between behavioural processes and movement patterns.
