Knowledge of the condition of the forest both temporally and spatially is essential for planning and managing forests in a rational manner both in the short and long term and with sustainability in mind. Forest inventories are a basic tool for orienting sustainable management and are based on ecological principles and the conservation of the forest.
The inventories are based on a grid of circular parcels with a density of approximately one parcel every 100 hectares. The information acquired allows the complete characterization of the composition and structure of the forest and understory.
