CREAF is seeking for a technician or postdoctoral for developing the CREAF contribution to the CITIOBS project (Enhancing Citizen Observatories for healthy, sustainable, resilient and inclusive cities), with ref. 101086421 – CitiObs - HORIZON-CL6-2022-GOVERNANCE-01, from the Horizon Europe program, and financed by the European Commission through the European Research Executive Agency.
A full-time contract is offered, with incorporation foreseen in January 2023 and for the duration of the project (3 years). The salary offered is between 23.700,25€ and 27.086€ gross per year, for a technician profile, or 30.471,75€ gross per year, for a postdoctoral profile.
TASKS:
- Develop Tools, Technologies, and Data Services for Citizen Observatories.- Develop demonstrators of standard web technologies in support of the project needs and in continuation of the group legacy.- Co-design of the CitiObs tools, Cookbook and Knowledge Platform and evaluation of demonstration activities.- Contribute to the impact creation, Communication, Dissemination and Exploitation of CitiObs.- Work on new OGC standards and documents.- Maintain communication with the relevant project consortium and monitor the project evolution.- Writing scientific literature or produce materials/data supporting the writing process.- Elaborate the project deliverables assigned to CREAF.- Contribute to the integration of EU funded projects results in the MiraMon software (desktop, mobile and web) as a mechanism to elevate the TRL of solutions.- Contribute to the promotion Grumets research group and to the use of the MiraMon software (desktop, mobile and web).
REQUIREMENTS:
- PhD in Environmental, Biological Sciences, Geography, Informatics, Physics or similar.- Geospatial Information System skills.- Previous experience in Citizen Science projects or campaigns.- Good level of English, written and spoken.- Availability for traveling abroad.
ASSESSABLE CONDITIONS:
- Some level of programming skills in at least one of the following languages: JavaScript, Python, C or similar.- Training and experience in topics such as In-situ data gathering, data management, and application of geospatial standards.- Experience in developing applications in cloud environments such us EOSC or Amazon Cloud.- Fluency in exposing ideas and discussing in public.- Experience in previous European Union projects.- Building or contribution to web map browsing technologies.- Deep knowledge in geospatial standards (sensors, metadata, data quality web services, APIs).- Careful attention to details.- Working independently but in constant coordination with a team.- Good level of Catalan, written and spoken.
