RESEARCHER FOR H2020-GREEN DEAL AND LOCAL GOVERNANCE FOR ADAPTATION PROJECTS

CREAF is seeking a researcher to support research and management activities into two types of projects:

  • I-CISK: Innovating climate services through integrating scientific and local knowledge: EU H2020 Green Deal project with ref. 101037293 and financed by European Commission.
  • Consultancy and technical assistance for CREAFs’ Water and Global Change research team collaborations with Catalan public authorities in the field of governance for adaptation, such as adaptation strategies, co-design of measures or the creation of dialogue tables for implementation.

This contract is envisaged to start in November 2021, and it will last two years (until the end of October 2023) extendable one or two years more. The salary offered is 31.500 € gross per year.

TASKS
- Support the CREAF research team on the tasks related to I-CSIK Work Package 1: The Living Labs: establishing a collaborative environment for the co-creation of next generation of climate services:

  • In the Living Labs: conducting the context analysis, stakeholder involvement process, setting up of multi-actor platforms, defining core values, etc.
  • Active participation in regular project meetings and write progress reports and deliverables.

- Develop collaborative programs between the CREAF research team and Catalan public authorities to design and implement governance for adaptation programs, including stakeholders and researcher engagement strategies.

REQUIREMENTS
- Forest or Agricultural engineer, or bachelor’s degree in Biology, Environmental Science, Ecology or equivalent.
- Expertise in EU, national and regional water management, climate change adaptation and mitigation policy frameworks.
- Experience in the design and implementation of living labs.
- Experience in assessing adaptation measures and fostering uptake of scientific knowledge into policy making processes.
- Experience in designing and implementing communication strategies.
- Advanced level of oral and written English, Spanish and Catalan.
- Fluency in exposing ideas and discussing in public, as well as workshop facilitation skills.

ASSESSABLE CONDITIONS
- MSc or PhD in Water Management, Terrestrial Ecology, GIS or equivalent.
- Expertise on the Andalusian water policy framework as well as on the specific socio-economic trade-offs regarding the Guadalquivir River basin.
- Expertise on the Catalan climate change policy framework, with a specific focus on municipal programs, such as PAES and PAESC.
- Experience in stakeholder identification and engagement processes, as well as mediation skills fostering the establishment of formal agreements.
- Other language skills related to I-CISK living labs (e. g., Italian).
- Working independently and in a team.
- Peer reviewed articles and publications in Water Management and Climate Change topics.
- Remote sensing and GIS skills.
- Experience with European projects.
- Experience with National projects (Spain).
- Driving license.

SELECTION PROCESS
1.
