CREAF is seeking for a high specialized technician, to work with a sole full-time contract on the following projects (alternatively/simultaneously):

- MIDMACC LIFE18 CCA/ES/001099 project ("Mid-mountain adaptation to climate change"), funded by the European Commission.
- For the CREAF contribution to the INTERREG SUDOE MONTCLIMA project (“Climate and natural hazards in the SUDOE mountains”, ref. SOE3/P4/E0874) from the European Union, funded in part with ERDF.

This technician will coordinate the regional case studies of both projects. The contract is expected to start next September, and will last until the end of the tasks detailed below.


  1. Management and leadership of the regional case studies.
  2. Definition and implementation of adaptation measures: pilot experiences in forest management.
  3. Monitoring the socioeconomic and ecological effectiveness of the implemented adaptation measures.
  4. Participation in the development of Integrated Climate Change Adaptation Guidelines for mid-mountain areas.
  5. Suport to the application of ecohydrological models.
  6. Creation of future land uses maps based on a GIS framework.
  7. Development of a landscape analysis based on a GIS framework.
  8. Project meeting preparation, development and reporting.
  9. Planning and implementation of stakeholder involvement.
  10. Dissemination of project results.


  1. Higher degree in Environmental, Forest or Biological Sciences, with experience in multidisciplinary work.
  2. Experience in forest management and in the implementation of pilot experiences in silviculture.
  3. Experience in field monitoring of pilot experiences.
  4. Experience in eco-hydrological, landscape and Geographical Information System (GIS) modelling.
  5. Training and experience on topics of adaptation to climate change.
  6. Training and experience on topics of mountain research and landscape management.
  7. Proficiency in Catalan, Spanish and English, written and spoken.
  8. Possibility to travel frequently abroad and field work.


  1. Previous experience in LIFE and SUDOE projects.
  2. Experience in participatory processes and work with multi-stakeholder platforms.

The selection process is led by the research project team, and will be overseen by the Management Office and the Human Resources Area of CREAF. This process consists of:

  1.
