CREAF

CREAF is seeking for a high specialized technician in innovation issues on governance, adaption to climate change, water management and sustainable agricultural practices in the Mediterranean, to collaborate with the Water and Global Change Team of CREAF in the framework of the FASTER project (“Farmers’ Adaptation Sustainability in Tunisia through Excellence in Research”), funded by the European Commission. The contract is expected to start at the beginning of December 2018, and will end when the tasks related to the project were finished (3 years of contract are foreseen).

TASKS

1. Preparation of the contents for an educational package aimed to university students and young professionals. Specifically, developing training modules (e-learning and summer school) on adaptation to climate change in water management, analysis of water management policies, governance for adaptation, and design and evaluation of adaptation measures.
2. Design of a living lab, a space for the exchange of knowledge between public administrations, researchers, technicians and farmers. In particular, the design and implementation of a multi-stakeholder platform in Tunisia, within the framework of local agricultural extension services.
3. Drafting reports on the project.

REQUIREMENTS

1. Higher degree, with experience in multidisciplinary work.
2. Training or experience in topics of adaptation to climate change.
3. Training or experience in topics of sustainable water management.
4. Experience in participatory processes and work with multi-stakeholder platforms.
5. Knowledge and skills in group dynamization techniques.
6. Good level of Catalan, Spanish and English, written and spoken.
7. Possibility to travel frequently abroad.

ASSESSABLE CONDITIONS

1. Previous experience in the interaction between research and the professional world.
2. Scientific PhD.
3. Knowledge of French.

SELECTION PROCESS AND CRITERIA
The selection process is led by the research project team, and will be overseen by the Director’s Office and the Human Resources Area of CREAF. This process consist of:

1. Admission of candidates: applicants must submit a résumé, a cover letter (maximum 500 words) and the questionnaire attached to the offer, by e-mail to laboral@creaf.uab.cat, until November 23, 2018 at 2:00 p.m., indicating the reference code of the offer. 2. Preselection: determination of compliance with the minimum requirements of the offer.
3. Selection: assessment of the preselected candidates by scoring based on objective criteria.
4. Final decision: in case of finding the suitable person, the election will be formally communicated to this person, and the identification of the chosen candidate will be published on CREAF job openings section.​​
