CREAF

CREAF needs to incorporate urgently an assistant technician for field and laboratory tasks, to analyse nests of solitary bees in pre-established cavities, from a study on the nesting of these insects in fruit fields, from the GRUP D’ECOLOGIA DE LA POL·LINITZACIÓ of CREAF. The contract will be full time (37.5 hours per week), and will begin in mid-August 2018, with a planned duration of one and a half months.

TASKS

1. Analysis of nests of solitary bees that nest in pre-established cavities. Identification of species and population quantification.
2. Elimination of nest parasites.
3. Set of microscopic samples with the pollen found in the nests for later identification.

REQUIREMENTS

1. Degree or equivalent in Environmental Biology, Biology, Environmental Sciences or Agricultural Engineering.
2. Experience in manipulation of hymenoptera nests.
3. Domain of written and spoken English.
4. Driver's license B.

SELECTION PROCESS AND CRITERIA
The selection process is led by the research project team, and will be overseen by the Management Office and the Human Resources Area of CREAF. This process consist of:

1. Admission of candidates: applicants must submit a résumé, a cover letter (maximum 500 words) and the questionnaire attached to the offer, by e-mail to laboral@creaf.uab.cat, until August 8th, 2018 at 2:00 p.m., indicating the reference code of the offer. 2. Preselection: determination of compliance with the minimum requirements of the offer.
3. Selection: assessment of the preselected candidates by scoring based on objective criteria.
4. Final decision: in case of finding the right person, the election will be formally communicated to him/her, and the identification of the chosen person will be published on CREAF job openings section.
