CREAF is seeking for a postdoctoral researcher in the area of environmental engineering, to join the LOCOMOTION project (“Low-carbon society: an enhanced modeling tool for the transition to sustainability”), ref. LC-CLA-01-2018, funded by the European Commission as part of the Horizon2020 program. The full-time contract will start in January 2020. TASKS
− Analysis of the quality of data and metadata.
− Developing of models of impact and adaptation to climate change.
− Modeling of the availability of energy resources.
− Translation of energy models from Vensim to Python.
− Preparation of reports and publications, as well as the dissemination material of the project.

− PhD in Environmental Engineering or similar.
− Demonstrable experience in modeling of dynamic systems in the field of energy.
− Previous participation in European projects.
− Ability to disseminate scientific results.
− Availability to travel to attend project meetings.
− Advanced level in Python programming language (Pandas, Xarray, Parsimonius, Jupyter notebook, SciPy, etc.).
− Experience in the use of version control systems (Git).
− Experience in the use of Linux/Mac/Windows environments.

− Experience in the tasks to be developed.
− Personal skills: flexibility, responsibility, problem solving, work organization and ability for teamwork.
− Knowledge of software Vensim.
− Valuable knowledge in Web frameworks Python (Django, Flask).
− Knowledge of other programming languages: JavaScript, SQL.
− Knowledge of cluster computing.

The selection process is led by the project research team, and will be overseen by the Management Office and the Human Resources Department. This process will consist of:
1. Admission of candidates: applicants must send a résumé, a cover letter (maximum 500 words) and the questionnaire attached to the offer (filled out), to, until December 9, 2019, indicating the reference code of the offer. 3. Selection: assessment of the preselected candidates by scoring based on objective criteria.
