CREAF seeks for a post-doc profile to the project FUTURE-ARTIC (A glimpse into the Arctic future: equipping a unique natural experiment for next generation ecosystem research), funded from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme. The contract will be full-time (37,5h per week), is expected to start in April 2020, and will finish at the end of the tasks required for the project.
TASKS- NMR analyses of soils and plants and animal tissues in our field sites in Iceland.- Orbitrap analyses of soils and plants and animal tissues in our field sites in Iceland.- Coordination of sampling, gathering and processing FUTURE-ARTIC datasets for ecometabolomics.- NMR and Orbitrap analyses of root exudates in response to N: P imbalances created by the experiments in Iceland.- Determination of the effects of global change, mostly warming and N fertilization, on soil and plant metabolism.- Reporting and communication tasks of the project related to his/her working area.
REQUIREMENTS- PhD Degree in metabolomics.- Advanced user of statistical software (R software).- Proven experience of more than 5 years in the study of ecometabolomics.- Proven experience of more than 5 years in the study of biochemistry of subarctic ecosystems.- Capacity for teamwork.- Catalan and English spoken and written correctly.
ASSESSABLE CONDITIONS- Doctoral degree in global change related subject.- Previous experience in managing large datasets and meta-analyses.- Previous experience in the study of peat dynamics and chemistry.- Knowledge of Spanish and Icelandic languages.
SELECTION PROCES AND CRITERIAThe selection process is led by the research project team, and will be overseen by the Management Office and the Human Resources Area of CREAF. This process consists of:1.
