POST-DOC RESEARCHER FOR PHENOTANDEM PROJECT

CREAF is seeking for a postdoctoral researcher, to work full-time on the PHENOTANDEM project (Harmonizing Remote Sensing and Citizen Science vegetation phenology observations), funded by the IHE Delft (Insitute for Water Education), in the CSEOL (Citizen Science Earth Observation Lab with ref. 2019/138/107688/MST project, and financed by ESA. This contract is envisaged to start in March 2020.

TASKS
- Develop phenological product such as: greenup, maturity, senescence, dormancy and Ecosystem functional types based on Sentinel 2 L2A time series at high resolution (10m) for the whole Catalonian territory.
- Deliver a Python code that can produce the products automatically in the Catalan Data Cube for future years.

REQUERIMENTS
- PhD in Geography, Biology, Environmental Science or equivalent.
- Al least 2 years of experience working abroad.
- Proven experience in innovative use or remote sensing imagery in general and Sentinel 2 in particular.
- Time series analysis knowledge.
- Advanced level of oral and written English.
- Previous experience participating in research projects.
- Python programming skills.

- Previous experience in the Open Data Cube.
- Previous experience in phenology.

SELECTION PROCES AND CRITERIA
The selection process is led by the Research Project team, and will be overseen by the Management Office and the Human Resources Area of CREAF. This process consists of:
1. Admission of candidates: applicants must submit a résumé, a cover letter (maximum 500 words) and the questionnaire attached to the offer (filled), by e-mail to laboral@creaf.uab.cat, until 27 february 2020, indicating the reference code of the offer. 2. Pre-selection: determination of compliance with the minimum requirements of the offer.
3. Selection: assessment of the preselected candidates by scoring based on objective criteria.
4. Final decision: in case of finding the suitable person, the election will be formally communicated to him/her, and the identification of the chosen person will be published on CREAF job openings section.
