CREAF is seeking for a postdoctoral researcher, to work with a sole full-time contract on the following two projects (alternatively/simultaneously):

- CREAF contribution to the COS4CLOUD project (“Co-designed Citizen Observatories Services for the EOS-Cloud”), ref. 863463, from the H2020 program, funded by the European Union.
- CREAF contribution to the WeObserve project (“An Ecosystem of Citizen Observatories for Environmental Monitoring”), ref. 776740, from the H2020 program, funded by the European Union.

The contract will last until the end of the tasks detailed below in the framework of those projects.


 Maintain an up to date communication with the COS4CLOUD project consortium.
 Be the main author of the deliverables assigned to CREAF.
 Deliver of the work required to fulfill the tasks assigned to CREAF.
 Do research in fields such as Citizen Science, Data Management, Integration Analysis and Presentation, directed to solve the challenges that COS4CLOUD faces and in contribution to the dissemination of the project results.
 Writing scientific literature.
 Web development and software development.
 Promote the usage of the RitmeNatura platform.
 Attend project meetings, stakeholder & co-design meetings, Advisory Board meetings and thematic conferences.
 Contribute to the promotion of the Grumets research group and to the use of the MiraMon software (desktop, mobile and web).
 Apply geospatial standards and contribute to their development.


 Degree in Computer Science, Biology, Environmental Sciences, Geography, or similar.
 PhD related to the previous disciplines.
 Demonstrated knowledge in web development and/or software development.
 At least, training and experience in one of these topics: Citizen Science, Data Management, Integration Analysis and Presentation.
 Knowledge and skills in group work.
 Good level of Catalan, Spanish and English, written and spoken.
 Availability for traveling abroad.


 Experience in previous European Union projects.
 Previous experience in citizen science projects.
 Experience in application development in JavaScript and Python.
 Experience in application development in C.
 Experience in script programming.
 Experience in developing applications for the cloud.
 Experience in participatory processes and work with multi-stakeholder platforms.
 Knowledge on the European Cloud and distributed processing platforms.
 Knowledge on geospatial standards and the consensus process used for their development.
 Preference for Microsoft Windows based systems.

The selection process is led by the research project team, and will be overseen by the Management Office and the Human Resources Area of CREAF. This process consists of:

  1. Admission of candidates: applicants must submit a résumé, a cover letter (maximum 500 words) and the questionnaire attached to the offer (filled), by e-mail to, until 30 August 2019, 2 PM, indicating the reference code of the offer.
