Wastewater

The existence of water treatment plants, which have constituted a significant advance in environmental policy, generate a new problem, which is the management of the sewage sludge that they produce. Each year 150.000 tons of dry sludge are generated, a rate high enough to necessitate a sustainable solution for the management of these residues. At CREAF we study the application of sewage sludge in agricultural soils.
