CREAF offers its own researchers as well as visiting researchers the possibility of working at a number of experimental research stations where they may carry out studies and long-term monitoring. Some of these experimental stations have been studied for decades (Garraf, Doñana, Montseny) offering the possibility for investigating ecological processes during a long period of time and at large spatial scales. 

These stations are distributed in the territory, are coordinated by different centers and cover a wide range of ecosystems

• Montseny station (non-Mediterranean mountain)
• Cerdanya station in the Pyrenees (non-Mediterranean mountain)
• Prades station (Mediterranean mountain)
• Sierra Nevada station (Mediterranean mountain)
• Alto Tajo station (Mediterranean mountain)
• Garraf station (Mediterranean lowland)
• Sierra del Segura station (Mediterranean lowland)
• Doñana station (Mediterranean lowland)
