She is an ecologist specializing in ecophysiology. Her recent subjects of study are: Global Change, Climatic Change, atmospheric pollution, remote sensing, plant ecophysiology, phenology, VOCs and functioning and structure of Mediterranean ecosystems. She has published 90 papers in scientific journals (70 in journals of the Science Citation Index). Some of her most outstanding results are the development of increasingly used remote sensing techniques to assess plant and ecosystem functioning, and the study of current evidence of global and climate change effects on the structure and functioning of Mediterranean ecosystems, and the study of mechanisms and functions of plant-emitted volatile organic compounds. She has participated in several projects funded by scientific agencies of Catalan, Spanish and European governments. She collaborates in the reviewing of articles for many scientific journals (e.g. International Journal of Remote Sensing, Remote Sensing of Environment, Environmental and Experimental Botany, Tree Physiology, New Phytologist, Journal of Environmental Quality, among others). Interests Mechanisms and functions of plant-emitted volatile organic compounds, Ecosystems’ functioning and structure, Remote sensing of ecosystem functioning
