I received the PhD in physics from the University of Valencia, Remote Sensing Unit, in 2008. From 2008 to 2010, I was a postdoctoral researcher at the same university, and from 2010 to 2013 at EMMAH unit in INRA (Avignon, France). Since 2013, I have been conducting my research at the Global Ecology Unit in CREAF.
My main research interests are in the development and validation of retrieval algorithms for the estimation of vegetation biophysical variables from remote sensing data, global change, climate-vegetation dynamics and phenology.
I have participated in more than 20 national and European research projects. I have been the principal investigator of three European research projects at CREAF to support public space agencies (LONGLOVE and GIOBIO projects) and private companies (AgriUAV project) in developing innovative technologies for vegetation monitoring from satellite and unmanned aerial systems. Currently, I am the scientific coordinator of the European Copernicus Global Land activities at CREAF, algorithm expert and scientist responsible for the vegetation biophysical and phenology products.
I have been professor assistant in bachelor’s and master degrees in the University of Valencia and University of Avignon (France). I have been supervisor of PhD thesis and Master projects. I have participated in PhD steering committees, scientific committees and organizing committees of international conferences. I collaborate in reviewing articles of many international journals. I co-authored more than 25 research papers in SCI journals.
