CREAF is seeking for two multi-disciplinary hearted postdoctoral/technicians with strong experience in biodiversity monitoring to work, together with other European institutions and the EU Commission, on building the European future biodiversity monitoring hub. Europa-BON project (Europa Biodiversity Observation Network: integrating data streams to support policy), with ref. 101003553 and financed by the European Commission, has as mission to overcome existing data gaps and workflow bottlenecks by designing an EU-wide framework for monitoring biodiversity and ecosystem services. The project aims to engage users at the regional, national and European level to identify the data needs of policies and targets, aligned with the new European Green Deal.
Together with ICO (Catalan Ornithological Institute) and EBCC (European Bird Census Council), CREAF is leading on an assessment of existing monitoring capability in Europe, in which the project will evaluate existing biodiversity data, and describe the major workflows used to generate and use these data in policy and research environments.
