CREAF

CREAF is seeking for a communication technician, with a profile of biologist specialized in scientific communication, to work full-time for 2 months on the LIFE project POLYFARMING ("Demonstration of a new agro-silvo-pastoral land use to improve farm profitability in mountain areas"), with ref. LIFE15 ENV/ES/000506, funded by the European Commission. This contract is envisaged to start in September 2019.

TASKS

1. Redefining the project's communication plan.
2. Creating and managing accounts from the social networks of the project.
3. Support in the writing of news and press releases.
4. Updating the corporate website of the project.
5. Coordination of the production of audiovisual material (videos, etc.).
6. Preparation and layout of printed material.
7. Monitoring of communication indicators.

REQUIREMENTS

1. Degree in biology.
2. Experience coordinating the communication of citizen science projects.
3. Experience in managing accounts on social networks.
4. Experience in the use of Wordpress and knowledge of the Drupal operating system.
5. Catalan and Spanish spoken and written correctly.

ASSESSABLE CONDITIONS

1. High capacity for teamwork.
2. Good level of English.
3. Experience or interest in the field of agro-silvo-pastoral management.
4. Experience in LIFE projects communication tasks.
5. Good skills in writing expression.
6. Experience in departments of institutional communication in research centres.
7. Demonstrable knowledge in the field of forest ecology, climate change and biodiversity.

SELECTION PROCESS AND CRITERIA

The selection process is led by the Communication Office and the research project team, and will be overseen by the Management Office and the Human Resources Area of CREAF. This process consist of:

1. Admission of candidates: applicants must submit a résumé, a cover letter (maximum 500 words) and the questionnaire attached to the offer (filled), by e-mail to laboral@creaf.uab.cat, until 2nd August 2019, 2 PM, indicating the reference code of the offer. Applications referred to another portal, other than CREAF job openings section and the instructions included in this, will not be accepted.
2. Pre-selection: determination of compliance with the minimum requirements of the offer.
3. Selection: assessment of the preselected candidates by scoring based on objective criteria.
4. Final decision: in case of finding the suitable person, the election will be formally communicated to him/her, and the identification of the chosen person will be published on CREAF job openings section.
