Copernicus Global Land Service: global systematic monitoring of the Earth’s land surface. Seminar by Dr. Aleixandre Verger

divendres, octubre 21, 201611.30h - 13.00h

Dr. Aleixandre Verger, from CREAF, presents this seminar about the European Earth monitoring program COPERNICUS. This seminar is free but you need to confirm your participation at https://goo.gl/forms/jiQXVtVfSZMNdV023

The Copernicus Global Land Service is the component of the Copernicus European Earth monitoring program which provides near real time biogeophysical variables at global scale on vegetation state and dynamics and on land surface processes and water cycle. These bio-geophysical variables are derived from low and medium resolution satellite data. The service was originally devised to answer the needs at least of the following EU policy areas: climate change, land degradation & desertification, forest resources, biodiversity, water resources, agriculture, rural development and food.
Dr. Aleixandre Verger, CREAF, is responsible for the definition, maintenance and evolution of the algorithm for the estimation of vegetation products within Copernicus Global Land.
Dr. Fernando Camacho is the CEO of EOLAB and responsible for the validation and quality assessment of vegetation and energy products within Copernicus Global Land.
